Our extra-curricular and co-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Public speaking is practiced across all stages throughout the year and our Debating team work with Mrs Freund during lunch time on Fridays to hone their skills.
Concert Band
Our award winning school concert band is a vibrant ensemble, growing in strength from year to year.
With a dedicated music room on site, students have the opportunity to develop their musicianship, confidence and love for music under the tutelage of Mrs Emma Moon.
Guitar Groups and Instrumental lessons
Students from years 1-6 have the opportunity to develop their playing skills in a fun and collaborative environment. Lead by experienced musicians, students can join age appropriate guitar groups or take part in instrumental tuition on a range of instruments.
Signing Choir is also a popular ensemble at WBPS with students of all ages able to take part.
Aerobics
Our school aerobics team is a dynamic and energetic group of students dedicated to fitness, teamwork and fun.
We have a range of teams at WPBS that work hard to perfect their routines and showcase their skills at school events as well as regional, state and national competitions.
STEM
Students have access to a range of STEM activities, providing young learners with engaging, hands-on experience that integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Sporting Teams
WBPS has a strong history of sporting success and encourages students of all abilities to take part in a wide range of sports.
From netball and cricket, to football, basketball and a range of other codes, we foster school spirit and sportsmanship on and off the field.
Cultural events
Students and staff at WBPS have many opportunities to celebrate the richness of cultural diversity throughout the year.
We celebrate Aboriginal heritage and traditions through storytelling, music, art and interactive workshops and promote mutual respect and understanding for all.
Spelling Bee
The NSW Premier's Spelling Bee challenges students to improve their spelling and vocabulary in a fun, competitive setting.
Principal's Reading Challenge
The Principal’s Reading Challenge is a special program created just for Warners Bay Public School students to inspire a love of reading. Students earn recognition every time they complete 50 nights of reading, culminating in an end of the year celebration which includes a special book award for the students who reach platinum level.
